该片讲述了少年战士阿席达卡为保护村子杀死了发狂的猪神，身中诅咒，为了解除诅咒，他来到西方的塔达拉，邂逅了犬神抚养的少女，人称幽灵公主的阿桑的故事。The movie tells the story of a young warrior, Ashitaka, who kills a rampaging boar god to protect his village and gets cursed in the process. To lift the curse, he travels west to Tatara, where he meets a girl raised by wolves, known as Princess Mononoke, named San.
