But a small mishap takes him from the streets of New York to a magical place called ‘The Great Before.’ There, souls get training and receive their personality traits and interests before heading to Earth. Determined to return to life on Earth, Joe meets a precocious soul named ’22.’ 22 has never found interest in human life. As Joe keeps trying to show 22 the wonders of life, he also comes to understand some answers to life’s ultimate questions.
