In the 12th century, a French blacksmith named Balian seeks redemption and self-discovery by joining the Crusades. He falls in love with Princess Sibylla of Jerusalem, and although they cannot marry, he earns a high position through his bravery and perseverance. Balian’s influence grows, and he takes on the responsibility of protecting Jerusalem while striving to maintain peace within the city.
