Unexpectedly, Toby (Dave’s nephew), who is responsible for taking care of their daily lives, constantly causes trouble, and the school announces at this time that music classes will be discontinued. The three mice enter a singing competition to save the music program, during which they meet a female chipmunk pop group voiced by Christina Applegate, Amy Poehler, and Anna Faris. The two groups not only engage in fierce competition but also unexpectedly spark a romantic connection.
