作品讲述巴克原是米勒法官家的一只爱犬，经过了文明的教化，一直生活在美国南部加州一个温暖的山谷里。后被卖到美国北部寒冷偏远、盛产黄金的阿拉斯加，成了一只拉雪橇的狗。该作以一只狗的经历表现文明世界的狗在主人的逼迫下回到野蛮，写的是狗，也反映人的世界。The work tells the story of Buck, who was originally a beloved dog in Judge Miller’s household. After being civilized, he lived in a warm valley in southern California. Later, he was sold to the cold, remote, gold-rich region of northern Alaska, where he became a sled dog. The story uses the experiences of a dog to show how a dog from a civilized world returns to savagery under the pressure of its master. While it is about a dog, it also reflects the human world.
