该片故事背景基于冰河纪这个充满惊喜与危险的蛮荒时代，主要讲述因为一名突如其来的人类弃婴，让尖酸刻薄的长毛象，粗野无礼的巨型树獭，以及诡计多端的剑齿虎三只性格迥异的动物不得不凑在一起充当小宝宝的保姆，还要历经冰河与冰山各种千惊万险护送他回家的故事。The story is set during the Ice Age, a wild era full of surprises and dangers. It mainly tells the tale of three very different animals—a sharp-tongued mammoth, a rude and rough giant sloth, and a cunning saber-toothed tiger—who are forced to come together to act as babysitters for a suddenly abandoned human baby. They have to face a series of thrilling and dangerous adventures across glaciers and icebergs to escort the baby back home.
